Tessloff receives exclusive international book rights

 

The baby polar bear FLOCKE (German for SNOWFLAKE) was born on 11 December 2007 at Nuremberg’s Zoological Garden. In April of 2008, the bear cub, being hand raised by a team of zoo keepers, will be released to an outdoor enclosure and presented to the curious public for the first time.

 

That date also marks the release of FLOCKE’s official diary – by the Tessloff Verlag – that captures the first months of life of this famous cub in exclusive pictures. This will be followed in June of 2008 by a fact picture book – written by a team of expert authors – with more of the latest footage on the Nuremberg polar bear lady.

 

Flocke writes diary

"Hi, I'm Flocke" is the official Flocke Diary that captures the first months of life of this famous cub in exclusive pictures. Besides the nicest pictures from Flocke’s Website, the book features primarily select pictures never before published.

Flocke's progress

On every spread, Flocke’s stages of development are captured in large, lovely photos, from the tiny polar bear cub with its flimsy hair up to the little rascal with her cuddly fur at play. Flocke’s progress, the devoted round-the-clock care of the zoo’s staff as well as Flocke’s role as a symbol for climate change and environmental protection are described in plain terms. The readers can follow how the polar bear girl grows in size and weight as well as everything she has learnt in the few weeks.

WAS IST WAS Magazine starts in Holland

 

The first of twelve WAS IST WAS editions in magazine format was published at the beginning of May. The publisher is House of Knowledge, a subsidiary of the Dutch DVD distributors Dutch Film Works. The magazines are a perfect example of the many possible product adaptations of WAS IST WAS.

The Learning Locomotive – Full steam ahead to nursery school

 

The new pre-school series from Tessloff starts with 6 books, an alphabet memory and numbers quartet. The title character is designed to be likeable and, together with other regularly appearing characters identifiable.
